About the Valley VOICE
The Valley VOICE is a biweekly regional BC community newspaper serving the Slocan, Arrow Lakes and North Kootenay Lake Valleys. It is 100% independent and locally owned by Nikko Snyder.
Operating out of Winlaw, BC, the Valley VOICE covers the news of the Arrow Lakes communities of Nakusp, Burton, Fauquier, Edgewood, Trout Lake; the Slocan Valley communities of Hills, Rosebery, New Denver, Silverton, Sandon, Slocan, Winlaw, Passmore, Slocan Park, Crescent Valley, South Slocan; and the North Kootenay Lake Valley communities of Kaslo, Woodbury, Ainsworth Hot Springs, Meadow Creek, Argenta, Johnson’s Landing and Howser.
The Valley VOICE aims to inform people about things happening in the West Kootenay region that affect them, and to promote local events and businesses. It is a people’s paper that values different viewpoints and freedom of the press. The newspaper provides a forum for the opinions of West Kootenay residents through its Voices from the Valleys feature. The Valley VOICE regularly publishes news and photography relating to politics, crime, health care, business, education, sports and the arts, as it affects people living in the three West Kootenay valleys that the newspaper serves.
